A Visit to Liang's Garden - Foshan China

Its a sunny morning on a fine Sunday and I felt that i should get out there and visit the local attractions here in Foshan. Went to the hotel
concierge...and checked out the places of interest in the vacinity. Well..there are a couple of places actually. One of which is a famous garden
called Liangs Garden (Liang Yuen - in chinese).  I headed off to the garden by taxi which cost about $12 RMB if I'm not wrong. 

The taxi stopped infornt of this large Chinese Gateway - located in the heart of the busy city. A garden in this part of town?......okay lets see.
It cost $10 RMB to get in. Its free and easy no-tour-guide place. Okay here are some of the photos taken on the round route into Liang's Garden.

The details in the carvings on the doors reflects their craftsmanship

One of the main center of attraction is s bridge pavilion linking its left and right banks - looks like many weddings were held here

 


what is a day without a game of chinese chess - playing chess under the cool shade of rustling bamboos

confidently, this young boy played against the older opponent - where age isn't a barrier

 


quiet and tranquil pathways round the perimeter of the garden


stacks of old spare roof tiles awaits its turn to be on the top

 


a tree small enough - suitable for a miniature diorama


their singing adds to the ambient of the place

 

...this short visit to the Liang's Garden help me understand the life and the basis of the culture of the people here in Foshan. Wanting a peaceful place and out of the heat ?
