Great that we have got a good size participation for this
upcoming event. This short write-up is aimed at helping out those
new to Sungei Buloh wetland Reserve get prepared for the outing.
There'll be lot of opportunities for photo taking out there, be it
Bird photography, Landscape photography or Macro etc. Having a large
group moving in a tranquil and serene place, I guess some pre-trip knowledge
will help enable a much more peaceful and ensure a smooth outing.
Not disturbing the environment and scaring away the birds or the bees when
we are there. So Here are some guidelines:
1) Personal Comfort logistics :
- Comfortable clothing - don't over dress as it may get a little humid
when the sunrises in the later part of the morning.
- A head gear - Cap, hat etc.
- A handy supply of bottle water
- Mosquito Repellant for those who do not favor mosquito bites.
- Portable stool or field Chair.
2) Photography Logistics :
- Have adequate energy packs (batteries), for your camera and flash.
- Have your equipment checked prior to the trip to ensure
the Camera is in operation.
- Have sufficient memory Cards or Film.
- Set some goals for your trip, shortlist your gear - do not overload and
end up bringing you whole dry box!!!! This is not the only trip that you have
to SBWR.
- Bring a tripod or bean bag if you have - especially those with long lens.
- Remember to bring along the Tripod quick release shoe too!!!
- Cable or Remote release may be helpful.
- off shoe flash cable and mounting fixtures where applicable.
- Knee pads or Ground sheets for those wanting to do floor/ground level
shots.
